William Gibson

William Gibson would not describe himself as a predictor of the future but rather he insists that the future was already here although unfairly distributed.

In his novel Neuromancer, Gibson shows society as totally dependent on technology. This is highlighted by his main character Case and his love of cyberspace.

The novel follows many themes of high levels of tech matching high levels of crime. It is not far off of where we could be in the next ten years.

Many of his predictions are currently being worked on such as augmented realities and artificial intelligence.

Author Yuval Harari stated, “AI is now beginning to outperform humans in more and more of these skills, including in the understanding of human emotions.”

Meaning not only did Gibson predict Artificial Intelligence it is. now beginning to surpass his original thought.
